Modernizing British Columbia’s Parcel Solution with ArcGIS Pro Parcel Fabric
The Land Title and Survey Authority (LTSA) of British Columbia successfully modernized the province’s land administration system by migrating ParcelMap BC to the ArcGIS Pro Parcel Fabric. Esri Canada’s Land Information Solutions team has created an ArcGIS StoryMaps story that explores LTSA’s modernization journey, detailing how this mission-critical system was transitioned to cloud infrastructure, utilized leading-edge automation like Attribute Rules and Tasks, and what this achievement means for the future of land data in British Columbia.
The Land Title and Survey Authority (LTSA) of British Columbia has taken a major step forward in modernizing the province’s land administration system. ParcelMap BC, home to over 2 million parcels, has been successfully migrated to the ArcGIS Pro Parcel Fabric. This project shifted strategies to meet evolving business needs and streamline downstream processes.
LTSA’s modernization journey was more than a routine software upgrade; it was an innovative transformation. Through an iterative migration procedure, custom workflow optimizations including advanced automation using attribute rules and tasks, and a highly orchestrated production deployment, LTSA has redefined how parcel data is updated and delivered. The project involved creative problem-solving (including a little “smooth jazz” during data migration!), valuable lessons learned, and close collaboration between LTSA and Esri Canada.
Esri Canada’s Land Information Solutions team has created an ArcGIS StoryMaps story that explores this journey in detail. Learn how British Columbia modernized its parcel mapping system and what it means for the future of land data in the province.
