Pomerleau boosts construction speed by 33% with BIM-GIS integration

Discover how Pomerleau, one of Canada’s largest construction companies, completed the Ciment Québec concrete-crushing centre 33% faster than planned by integrating geographic information system (GIS), building information modelling (BIM) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.

Using Esri’s ArcGIS platform, real-time IoT sensor data and dynamic BIM models, Pomerleau created a digital twin of the construction site—enabling centimetre-level accuracy, enhanced coordination and real-time decision making. This innovative approach earned them the Esri Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award:
