ArcGIS Field Maps Early Access release (August 2022)
ArcGIS Field Maps is a powerful mobile app solution that streamlines field workflows for exploring maps, collecting and updating authoritative data, and sharing where mobile workers have gone, all within a single location-aware mobile app. Released in November 2020, Field Maps is Esri’s premier, map-centric mobile solution for smartphone and tablet devices.
We have many exciting new development initiatives underway for the November release of ArcGIS Field Maps. We’ve updated the iOS/Android mobile apps and web app to expose some of the new capabilities coming late this fall.
What's New in the August 2022 ArcGIS Earth Release
The July release of ArcGIS Earth Mobile and the August release of ArcGIS Earth desktop are both now available. The latest release for mobile includes new and improved measurement tools and the ability to view temporal data. The new desktop release includes the ability to filter for layer, draw templates, and add drawings for the Automation API.
What’s new in ArcGIS GeoEvent Server 11.0
ArcGIS GeoEvent Server allows organizations to ingest, visualize, analyze, and act on data from sensors and asset tracks. Whether you’re tracking moving assets, monitoring stationary sensors, or following social media feeds, you can tap into, analyze, and display real-time and the Internet of Things (IoT) data on your maps.
ArcGIS GeoEvent Server 11.0 includes several general updates, improved usability and performance, and stability enhancements throughout the product. Below is a quick overview of some highlights in the 11.0 release.

ArcGIS Runtime 100.15 - Esri’s first long-term support release is now available
This release focuses on stability and bug fixes. As a long-term support release, version 100.15 delivers two years of General Availability instead of one, before the usual one year of Extended Support and two years of Mature Support. That means a total of 5 years of support before 100.15 is retired. The next version, 200.0, will add new functionality and support updated developer tools.
New Educational Resources for Developers
Are you a visual learner? There is a now a new ArcGIS Developers YouTube Channel, embedded videos throughout the developers.arcgis.com site, as well as curated developer content on mediaspace.esri.com. Now you can live and learn by the code.
Add Experience Builder Custom Widgets In ArcGIS Enterprise
Starting with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0, you can add Experience Builder custom widgets into ArcGIS Enterprise to extend the builder inside ArcGIS Enterprise, so everyone in your ArcGIS Enterprise with privileges to create content can create custom apps without coding.

ArcGIS Notebook Server 11.0 with Windows containers
We released ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0 (Windows and Linux) on July 21, 2022. In this release, ArcGIS Notebook Server with support for Windows containers and Mirantis Container Runtime (MCR) is available as a beta feature on Windows. This is a very exciting release for Esri and the ArcGIS Notebooks community because support for Mirantis Container Runtime as the container engine improves many of the limitations of Docker Desktop on Windows.

Prepare for the retirement of ArcGIS Dashboards Classic
After several updates of ArcGIS Dashboards, the time has come for ArcGIS Dashboards Classic to retire. For ArcGIS Online users, ArcGIS Dashboards Classic is currently in mature support and with the Fall 2022 update, it will be officially retired. For ArcGIS Enterprise users, ArcGIS Dashboards Classic is set to be retired in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0.
Several Legacy Boundary Layers to be Retired in 2022
In July 2022 and December 2022, several legacy Boundary Layers, which have been in mature support and not actively maintained, will be retired. Once these layers are retired, they will no longer be available to use. If you are using one of these layers, you should switch to the equivalent layer in General Availability. If you are not sure, keep reading.
Notification: Old Esri Vector Basemaps will be retired in 2022
Esri’s vector basemaps and styles are organized by version number. Currently, version 2 (v2) basemaps are updated on a regular cadence. Earlier versions are available but no longer updated. Find out which versions will be retired and will no longer be available to use in maps and apps.
Developers: Required update to ArcGIS location services
On January 27th, 2021, new ArcGIS location services and pricing were released. If you have developed an application that uses ArcGIS Online services other than the new ArcGIS location services, you may be required to update your applications before April 30th, 2022, or December 31st, 2022.
ArcMap Continued Support
ArcGIS 10.8.2 is the current release of ArcMap and will continue to be supported until March 1, 2026, as established in the ArcGIS Desktop Product Life Cycle. This was a maintenance release only and does not include new functionality. This update does not extend the ArcGIS 10.8.x product life cycle. Esri does not have plans to release an ArcMap 10.9. The ArcMap Continued Support page, will be able to answer your questions regarding continued support of ArcMap as well as contains resources to help you transition your work moving forward into several Esri products such as ArcGIS Pro.
Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.8.1 Patch 12 (Desktop | Server)
This is a general cumulative maintenance patch for the Mapping and Charting Solutions including; ArcGIS Aviation Airports (Desktop), ArcGIS Aviation Charting (Desktop), ArcGIS Bathymetry (Desktop), ArcGIS Defense Mapping (Desktop, Server), ArcGIS Maritime (Desktop, Server), and ArcGIS Production Mapping (Desktop, Server). Please download and install this patch at your earliest convenience.

Map of the Month: Community Vulnerability to Climate Change
This map is part of series in which Licker Geospatial Consulting (LGeo) modelled community vulnerability to different climate change-related hazards in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Fraser Health (FHA). The map shows vulnerability to extreme heat in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, as well as the community’s exposure, sensitivity and adaptive capacity to extreme heat. The modelling approach included synthesizing identified determinants of vulnerability into an overall vulnerability score through a principal component analysis. LGeo also completed this analysis for wildfire smoke, ground-level ozone and flooding hazards.
