Web AppBuilder Developer Edition 2.15 Now Available
Version 2.15 of Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS Developer Edition has been released and is available for download at the ArcGIS for Developers site. This update includes the new enhancements that were part of the Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS Online release in December. Read What’s New in Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS (December 2019) for more details.

ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Qt Embedded Linux Beta 3 Available Now
We’re pleased to announce an update to the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Qt Embedded Linux Beta program: Beta 3. Beta 3 is now based on the 100.7 Runtime release, so you can use all the great new features from 100.7 on your Embedded Linux devices. Some of the highlights are discussed in this blog post.

ArcGIS Pro Extensibility - Advances in 2019, and What's Coming
Looking back, 2019 was another strong year of advancements in extensibility for ArcGIS Pro. We again saw plenty of growth as more organizations moved to ArcGIS Pro and developed custom add-ins with the ArcGIS Pro SDK for .NET. Visualizing SketchUp Models in ArcGIS Urban
With more local governments and private development firms migrating to 3D models to envision what new development will look like, the need to utilize the models in GIS is becoming more and more of a necessity. New year, new maps. It’s the start of the new year and the start of something new at Community Maps. For the next 12 months, we will feature a new, rotating style – the Community Maps Style of the Month.

App of the Month: COSMOS
City of Surrey is British Columbia’s second-largest city, next to Vancouver, and has more than 520,000 residents. It supports its Smart City Strategy by using geographic information system (GIS) technology to improve the delivery of municipal services. The City needed a way to display and give access to large sets of cadastral data for different types of audiences. Since most of these datasets were spatial, the City leveraged their existing spatial data infrastructure and ArcGIS API for JavaScript to build COSMOS, a customized application that allows the public to explore over 200 layers of information, annotate their own maps and search for underground infrastructure near their property.

Announcing the winners of the 2019 StoryMapper of the Year competition
“Pancakes and Silver” by Stanford University Libraries took the grand prize in Esri’s 2019 StoryMapper of the Year competition. The story, made with the new ArcGIS StoryMaps builder, describes the use of 21st-century technology to cast a new light on 19th-century silver mines in Nevada’s Comstock lode.

The story map and four runners-up were chosen from among hundreds of competition entries on a broad diversity of topics and created by government agencies, nonprofit organizations, research institutions, and passionate individuals. The 2019 StoryMapper of the Year competition was the first to spotlight stories created using ArcGIS StoryMaps, Esri’s second-generation storytelling app. Another first was the addition of cash prizes, with contestants required to describe how their prize money would be used for social benefit.
