ArcGIS Earth 1.11 is here!
ArcGIS Earth 1.11 was released on Oct. 1. To learn more, and to download ArcGIS Earth, see the ArcGIS Earth overview or Microsoft store. This release includes new 3D capabilities, supports for new data types, and user experience enhancements.

What's new in ArcGIS Workforce (October 2020)
ArcGIS Workforce is a powerful mobile solution that improves the planning and coordination of your field workforce. Workforce uses a location-based approach for planning and coordinating field work activities. Included with your ArcGIS organization, Workforce brings the location of mobile workers and the work they need to do to the field maps you deploy to your mobile workforce. New versions of the mobile apps are available now on the Apple App Store and Google Play. There is an ArcGIS Workforce General Patch now available for installing the ArcGIS Workforce web application on your Enterprise portal as well (both Windows and Linux setups are available).

What's new in Map Viewer Beta (October 2020)
The October update for Map Viewer Beta includes several exciting new enhancements. With the latest update, you can add feature services and tiled map services from url, add thumbnails and rotation to your bookmarks, and more.

What's New in ArcGIS API for JavaScript (October 2020)
The October update to the ArcGIS API for JavaScript is here, and it packs a punch with a range of new features and enhancements. A major theme for version 4.17 is performance – in particular, if you are working with large datasets, we highly encourage you to test your apps with this release. Performance improvements reached across feature layers, all client-side layers, and point scene layers. Let’s explore some of the highlights of this release.

ArcGIS Field Maps supports mobile workflows
Realize greater efficiency and empower your workers with ArcGIS Field Maps. This streamlined mobile app, available later this month, will allow users to collect and edit data, find assets and information, plus report their real-time locations. This app will transform operations for organizations new to using mobile apps for field activities and streamline the experience for existing users.

ArcGIS Online will enforce HTTPS Only for all organizations in December 2020
The ArcGIS platform uses HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol for secure communication) as a key component of its security for web and service API connections. This includes connections between our software, such as ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Enterprise, with ArcGIS Online. Esri will be enforcing HTTPS Only, without exception, in December 2020, to increase the security of the ArcGIS platform.

COVID-19 Canada Resource Hub
Esri Canada released in mid-March the COVID-19 Canada Resource Hub, which includes bilingual maps, apps and other resources for the public, customers and media. The hub is constantly updated and features dashboards on economic recovery, family structure, household dynamics and mental health, COVID-19 open datasets, additional GIS training videos and other resources. Complimentary Software and Training Program for Professionals Extended Through December 31
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the economy, millions of individuals remain furloughed, working on a reduced schedule or seeking other opportunities. Many are using this time to develop their professional toolkit, whether brushing up on existing expertise or learning a completely new skillset.

This program, originally available through August 31, 2020, has now been extended through December 31, 2020. Those who have already enrolled will be automatically granted continued access. Impacted or furloughed professionals who have not yet signed up are invited to do so through the end of November at https://learn.arcgis.com/en/become-a-member/.

Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.8.1 Patch 1 (Desktop | Server)
This is a general cumulative maintenance patch for the Mapping and Charting Solutions including; ArcGIS Aviation Airports (Desktop), ArcGIS Aviation Charting (Desktop), ArcGIS Bathymetry (Desktop), ArcGIS Defense Mapping (Desktop, Server), ArcGIS Maritime (Desktop, Server), and ArcGIS Production Mapping (Desktop, Server). Please download and install this patch at your earliest convenience.

ArcGIS (Desktop, Server) 10.7.1 Belge Lambert 1972 Equivalency Patch
This patch adds the ability to handle both versions of the Belge Lambert 1972 projected coordinate systems as if they are equivalent.

ArcGIS Server 10.8.1 Print Service Patch
This patch resolves multiple issues with the print service in ArcGIS Server 10.8.1 including problems that prevent printing with layout templates and outputs that are missing legends or layers.

ArcGIS (Desktop, Engine, Server) 10.7.1 Spatial Analyst COM and Extraction Tools Patch
If you are using the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst COM components and creating custom applications, this patch resolves a runtime error when certain components are used in a pre-10 coding style. It also fixes two bugs for the extraction tools.

ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Server 10.8.1 Patch 1
This is a general maintenance patch for ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Server 10.8.1. It addresses several issues, including failure of map reports in certain cases and management of data packs.

ArcGIS Mission Server 10.8.1 Message Management Patch

Reclassify Raster Data in ArcGIS Pro Spatial Analyst Extension

The Reclassify tool is available in the Spatial Analyst extension in both ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro. When the Reclassify tool for ArcGIS Pro was built, Esri included a longstanding request to have the tool recognize the class breaks from the input layer symbology. How do I license my ArcGIS Parcel Fabric?

How to choose your map's medium
Knowing how your map will be shared before you start mapping helps with important design decisions. We’ve never had so many ways to share our maps with the world, from full, interactive stories to photocopied brochures, from videos on phones to giant posters. The problem is that a map that works brilliantly for one medium might be a complete mess in another. Interactive maps are great for deep exploration, but not a good choice if people need to print a copy, or if it needs to be embedded on another platform. Print maps are great for fine lines and lots of labels, but those details might be illegible on a phone.
