Map of the Month: Toronto Property Permeability
The Map of the Month for September 2023 is “Toronto Property Permeability” by the City of Toronto Geospatial Competency Centre. This map shows the permeability of each municipal parcel within the City of Toronto. The data has been symbolized by percentage permeable, then overlaid upon the City of Toronto’s bare earth LiDAR hillshade.

ArcUser: A Nature-Based Solution to Human-Elephant Conflict
In 2006, researchers proved that honeybees can help save the world’s largest land mammal. The Elephants and Bees Project, devised by Save the Elephants, reduces elephant crop raids by helping farmers build beehive fences that discourage elephants. To record information about farms and fences, the project team uses handheld GPS devices as well as ArcGIS Survey123, then visualizes that information using ArcGIS Dashboards.
