Make a Difference in the World: Enter the Esri Climate Resilience App Challenge
Do you have an innovative idea, using Esri technology, for an app that can help communities become more resilient to climate change? Showcase your creativity for a chance to win cash prizes in the Esri Climate Resilience App Challenge 2014
In June 2013, the Unites States’ president, Barack Obama announced a comprehensive Climate Action Plan which includes the Climate Data Initiative - an effort to encourage tech innovators to use data about climate change risks and impacts in compelling ways to help citizens, businesses and communities make smart choices in the face of climate change.
In support of this initiative, Esri is encouraging you to enter the Esri Climate Resilience App Challenge. This competition is now open globally and we want to see how you use Esri’s ArcGIS technology to create an app that helps communities see, understand and prepare for climate risks.
What apps can you develop that may help communities prepare for, react to and recover from severe weather events or enable every day changes to reduce our carbon footprint? Apps could address challenges in public safety, transportation, economic development, healthcare and more.
Hurry! The competition closes June 2, 2014.
Esri will provide up to three winners with cash prizes. Winners will receive:
First Place: $10,000
Second Place: $5,000
Third Place: $2,000
The winning apps will be featured at Esri International User Conference, where more than 15,000 of our users come together to share ideas and do their part to transform our world.
See the full terms and conditions for further information.
Note: If your organization is unable to receive cash prizes, Esri will provide the equivalent value in software.
